Detailed route description

Saturday

From 11.30 to 13.00 boarding in Trogir port, greeting and getting to know the crew and other passengers. Right after that we leave the shore and head towards Split. Walk around old town and visit 1700 years old palace of Roman emperor Diocletian. Guest who arrive later by plane and will be transferred to Split will board in the evening.

Sunday

We head in direction of island of Brac.. Today our route starts from the island of Bol. Bol is known for its famous beach Zlatni Rat. The peak of this pebbled beach spreads over 400 m into the sea and keeps changing is shape with the sea currents. We'll ascent a hill until we reach the highest peak of all the Adriatic islands – Vidova Gora (778m). Unique view from Vidova Gora encompasses nearby islands and mountains Kozjak, Mosor and Biokovo on land. Far beneath them lies a famous beach "Zlatni Rat". After descending to town Bol we return to our ship which will take us to Jelsa on the island of Hvar.

Walking time ca. 5:00 h, climb and descend 778 m altitude

Monday

Today we experience something special - walking in search of medicinal plants. Route starts in Jelsa port. One excellent connoisseur of medicinal plants and aromatic herbs (he of course knows other numerous plants that grow here) will take us through an area of various natural odors. During our walk he will show and explain us characteristics of certain plants, especially aromatic, medicinal and eatable ones. In the end of our walk we are being prepared a picnic with medicinal plants - in shade of olive groves we try different meals prepared from or with herbs we saw before and of course which we gathered. Together with this excellent food there is also homemade wine. We then return to ship and sail towards Hvar, capital of the same-called island. In the afternoon we take a tour of the town and visit citadel from 16th century which overlooks the town. Overnight stay in Hvar port or another nearby bay.

Walking time ca. 3:00 h, climb and descend 103 m altitude, tour around town ca. 2:30 h.

Tuesday

After breakfast we direct our course from Hvar to the island of Korcula. We leave our ship in Kneza bay and walk slowly uphill upon a road that mostly leads through a "tunnel" of Mediterranean plants to the village Pupnat. From here we start descending slightly downhill through an area known for its unique set of rocks, caves and caverns and lush vegetation. We then head through village Brdo and Zrnovica to arrive to Korcula where our ship is already waiting. The rest of day we spend sightseeing the town of a famous seaman and explorer Marco Polo. Overnight stay in Korcula port.

Walking time ca. 5:00 h, climb and descend 410 m altitude.

Wednesday

After a short ride we anchor in Orebic on Peljesac peninsula. We walk to monastery "Lady of the Angels" where we can visit a small marine museum. Further, we continue along St. Ilija hill slope through abandoned village Cukovac to Kuciste where a boat waits for us. After lunch we sail along Peljesac peninsula to Makarska Riviera where we stay the night in a port.

Walking time ca. 3:00 h, climb and descend 180 m altitude.

Thursday

We drive with small buses to the highest hill of Nature Park Biokovo called St. Jure (1762m). There is a beautiful view over Biokovo, numerous places from Sinj to Vrgorac and mountains of middle Bosnia and Herzegovina. We walk through middle part of Biokovo to Vozac top (1421m). This hill is ideal from the end of our walking because from there we see almost whole Middle and South Dalmatia - coastal places from Trogir to Ploce, all islands from Rogoznica archipelago to Mljet and of course all islands which we have already walked through. In the end we return by bus on our ship which will take us to the island of Solta. In the late afternoon we anchor in Stomorska port where we stay the night.

Walking time ca. 4:00 h, climb and descend 120 altitude.

Friday

From Stomorska we walk to the middle part of island, over village Gornje selo, through wine yards and olive groves to Mala Maslinica bay situated not far from town Necujam. We then continue slowly uphill to Grohota, then downhill to Rogac, to our ship. In the late afternoon we return back to Trogir. There you can relax in unique atmosphere of this "town-museum" which is under the auspices of UNESCO. Take a walk through historic part of town which completely presents an important monument of the town. There is no house there that carries a special stylistic mark, coat of arms or inscription. Many palaces and houses as well as churches mostly originate from the 13th century.

Walking time ca. 3:30 h, climb and descend 220 altitude.
